Bilingual Counseling Skills, Microcredential

Saint Louis University's departments of Psychology and Languages, Literatures and Cultures offer a joint 9-credit-hour undergraduate microcredential in bilingual counseling skills while also building greater awareness of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Satisfactory completion of this microcredential would allow undergraduates to develop the necessary foundational professional, linguistic, and (inter)cultural skills to provide counseling for English- and Spanish-speaking populations.

Continuation Standards

Grade of "C" or better in each course. Students who do not achieve the "C" or better
grade in a course will be expected to repeat the course in an attempt to achieve the
"C" or better grade. Students may repeat a course one time. Failure to achieve the
"C" or better grade after one repeat attempt will have the student dismissed from the
microcredential.

Roadmaps are recommended semester-by-semester plans of study for programs and assume full-time enrollment unless otherwise noted.  

Courses and milestones designated as critical (marked with !) must be completed in the semester listed to ensure a timely graduation. Transfer credit may change the roadmap.

This roadmap should not be used in the place of regular academic advising appointments. All students are encouraged to meet with their advisor/mentor each semester. Requirements, course availability and sequencing are subject to change.
