Biology, Minor
Biology is a dynamic science that helps you better understand living organisms and the ways they interact with our environment.
Saint Louis University’s minor in biology requires eight credits of introductory biology, eight credits of introductory chemistry and 12 credits of upper-level biology courses.
Students must complete a minimum total of 28 credits for the minor.

BIOL 4960 Independent Research (1-3 cr) and BIOL 4980 Advanced Independent Study (1-4 cr) do not count towards the 12 credits of upper division biology courses. Classes with the 'Biology Minor' attribute are BIOL 3000 and above.
Continuation Standards
Students must have a 2.00 grade point average (GPA) in all courses used to fulfill major requirements. Students who fall below the 2.0 GPA in major coursework will be placed on program probation. If a student's major GPA falls below a 2.00 for two consecutive semesters, the student will be eligible for dismissal from the major.
Program Notes
Seats in some courses are often offered first to biology majors. Remaining seats are then offered to non-biology majors.
